Decodable Quizzes
A favourite at the Little Learners Love Literacy Hub – these reading games will generate lots of laughter in your classroom!
Students play these decodable quizzes with partners, but they can also be used in effectively in whole class instruction and 1-1 intervention settings. Each quiz gives students practice reading short decodable questions several times to build sentence-level fluency. The questions are fun and quirky and provide a springboard for interesting discussions to develop oral language skills and vocabulary. Children answer ‘yes’, ‘no’ or ‘maybe’, and have to justify their answer – no matter how silly the question is!
The Wiz Kids Quiz
The Wiz Kids Quiz can be used with children learning Stages 1–4 of the Little Learners Love Literacy® Teaching Sequence. It features a range of quirky characters from The Wiz Kids decodable book series but can be used as a standalone resource.



This decodable quiz includes a picture with each question to provide visual context. Students can give evidence from the illustration when justifying their answer.
How to Play
Tim's Quiz

Tim's Quiz can be used with children learning Stages Plus 4–6 of the Little Learners Love Literacy® Teaching Sequence. It is derived from the Stage Plus 4 Pip and Tim book 'The Big Wind Day!' but can be used as a standalone resource.
Example questions include: 'Did Goldilocks run from three possums? Do all kids like froth? Can a rock think?' Students will give their brains a workout as they get creative with their answers!
